From the cover: "These are the scans of 35mm film prints of the Back to the Future Trilogy. They feature a super wide open matte with a fully exposed picture frame. All but the visual effects shots reveal almost double extra picture never before visible (the Trilogy was filmed with widescreen aspect ratio of 1.85:1 in mind). The scans contain the film imperfections (grain and scratches) as presented in theaters during their theatrical releases and feature truer to original colors. There are no digital edge enhancements or noise removal otherwise present on the official Blu-ray releases. Scans were sourced from German 35mm film prints, hence the movie logos and some text are in German. Audio is English 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround."
